Without a doubt one of the most long-lasting and endearing of ITV sitcoms. On The Buses lasted a tremendous seven series - from 1969 to 1973.

Starring Reg Varney as jack-the-lad Stan Butler and Bib Grant as 'Clippie' Jack Harper, their unwavering objective is to get through the day with the minimum of work and the maximum of ogling birds. Determined to thwart this cunning masterplan at every opportunity is the slow but devious Inspector Blake ('Blakey' to his enemies). Not only does Butler have to contend with Blakey but he also has to put up with living at home and 'enjoying' the company of his mum, sister Olive and her husband Arthur.

In May 1960, a liverpool band named the Quarry Men changed its name to the silver Beetles and switched from Skiffle to rock and roll. By August, they became the Beatles, and while appenticing in Hamburg, Germany later that year, John Lennon, Paul McCartney and George Harrison first recorded with drummer Ringo Starr. Though the union was not formalised for another two years, this session gave listeners their first taste of the unmistakable sound of the 'Fab Four' Soon after, the group would change the world like no other entertainers ever have.

This DVD documentary by filmaker Les Krantz documents the Beatles arrival in America in 1964 and follows them on a whirl wind tours across Europe and around the world.
